Mitigation efforts: exposure to violences
In terms of mitigating exposure to violence, there isn't one standard, proven way of reducing racial disparities, but a few areas generally have the potential to do so. Research has shown that the most effective mitigation strategies most often include (1) community-oriented policing or efforts by law enforcement to build a trusting relationship with a community, (2) de-escalation and bias training within law enforcement, (3) Open Data initiatives where data on policing outcomes is shared with/more accessible to the public, and (4) a general interest in serving all citizens, treating all with respect, and keeping up with modern policing methods.
